Adventurer Starter Set - Citadel Miniatures

This was the first box set i bought from Wayfarers Arcade Southport - Arcade Sports - long gone shop. Possibly the most awesome shop to have ever existed, selling Skateboards, sports gear and Rpg stuff! I went on to pick up D&D, Runequest and a load more stuff here, before the ubiquitous GW started to dominate. At the time i obviously threw the precious box and styro and began my miniature painting career.
The results like any first time painter were terrible, however as most of older gamers do, i have kept almost all of my miniatures. I recently rekindled my interest in miniature painting and wargaming and decided to assemble the sets again.
So after a couple of weeks i tracked down the one missing figure the devout cleric, who i had somehow lost. Stripped them all down and re-painted, there do not seem to be many images of the complete set painted so i figured some old nerds like myself may be interested to see them.

Citadel BC1 Adventurer Starter Set

Heroic Knight in Armour.

The knight is a standard fighter model, wearing full plate I opted for a check tabard to contrast with the armor, and a simple red rose on the shield - Lancashire!! -

Wizard with magic staff.

The wizard i had originally painted in an awful gloss khorne red, I opted to repaint him in a navy blue robe with his staff resembling a snake, i chose the blue and yellow as he "may" fit into a future tzeentch army/warband.

Indomitable Gnome Fighter.
A very easy figure to paint, he is tiny, and mostly covered in chainmail, i opted for a bright orange beard to brighten up the mini. I like this model.

Devout Cleric.
I had lost this figure, so i had to track one down online, i paid around £5 for it i think (including postage) - some of the people on there are asking RIDICULOUS prices for unpainted miniatures by the way! I gave the cleric a nice sky blue cloak, with a red cross theme, to reflect his healy styles!

Expedition pack mule.

I have seen this for sale as "Bill the Pony" from LOTR, but this one is a little different. I am not confident painting horses!

Stout dwarf warrior.

Decent armoured dwarf model, straight forward to paint, i opted for my current favourite beard colour! Blue!

Young Fighter.

For a long time i thought this figure was boring, for some reason i love this guy now! I matched him up to my in progress dwarf/imperial army in green and yellow, and decided i would give him a white rose on his shield.. Not sure how he and the heroic Knight will get on now.. Could have a war in the roses in the cupboard scenario playing out..

Stealthy dwarf thief.

Last but by no means least - the thief dwarf - my favourite of the set, i used him as a characted in a rune quest campaign for many a month....Milo Burble! I also painted him in green and yellow to slot into the dwarf army.

All together say CHEESE!
