Iron Hands Space Marine Army - updated

Updated the army with some more paint - a squad of bikers, - used some of the old RT era all metal "Vincents" with more recent plastic models. Also got a dreadnought in there now!
Picture bombardment incoming!

First is the dreadnought, it's an old metal model - next to the recently painted Forge World Iron Hands Iron Father. Weighs a tonne!

Some more photos of the beast, i added some rust weathering around the bolts and a little zinc oxide on the exhausts. I might add some verdigris shade later. I think he looks quite imposing. I certainly wouldn't want one on my foot.
Next up are the bikers, this first one is all metal RT era beaky marine, i used some OSL on the lights and some zinc oxide weathering powder on the exhausts, also some sand powder applied to the tires and fairing lower areas. He has a more recent backpack, with some nice details. The Forge World transfers really finish the bikes off well in my op.

Next up this cool all metal RT beaky tech marine with the side car, i need to finish the passenger off. Let's say he is on leave right now. Some lesser OSL on this one, although the brake lights gave me a chance to try some red osl on the rear.

I love these models, i think the osl on the rear worked out quite well.
Next up are the newer plastic bikes, not nearly as enjoyable to paint and check out the size difference!

These were painted much faster than the character and older metal "feature" models, i find it more important for an overall look in an army than trying to focus in on too much individual detail. Otherwise armies can take years to complete. Individual models can also be swapped in at any time later. I did do some OSL on this chap though -
All together they look pretty sweet - there is another sidecar in the pics below, his passenger is also on leave and his sword needs finishing.

Next up in detail are the Assault marines. This squad is entirely made of old RT era metal marines with old metal jump packs, again using the Forge World Iron Hands transfers.
Sorry for above poor pic ^ this is the squad leader, he is an old metal marine, with a bionic arm and older variant armor, i felt he was sufficiently "iron handy" to lead the assault!

Next up - with a power axe and plasma pistol, another older style metal marine. His pose is a little odd but adds to the feel of the army i think.
The first of 2 in the assault squad with power swords, this older style all metal beaky marine fits perfectly into the army.
Another old style metal marine, chain sword and plasma pistol.
All together say cheese!

Next up are possibly command/retinue characters but i might use as special characters in other squads.

This is a metal Captain character, he does not seem chapter specific so fits into the army fine. I tried more OSL from his pistol and sword across the more reflective parts of his chest. Not sure if it has worked so well!
Next up is this awesome old beaky with datapad, i really enjoyed painting him, - tis a shame GW don't release more of this - so much character. Again some OSL attempted from his datapad, this was done with an actual brush, not the airbrush.

Another awesome mini, the above i have seen as "hero marine", "errant" armor etc. Whatever it actually is - looks great as Iron hands!
I think the above is a medic char, he does have a wreath which is possibly some sort of honour mark? Either way, an awesome addition to the Iron hands. Another superb RT era beaky metal marine.

Last in this little squad is this tech marine? - he doesn't have the tech backpack - but he is so Iron Hands looking - a later period figure - circa 99 i think. The face i am not so proud of. I must have been high.
All together say Cheddar!

Next up will definitely be some tanks or heavy goodies...

Well - an update was due so here are some pics of the Iron Hands army so far.
We have the Iron Hands Iron Father, his retinue with techmarine, apothecary - communications officer!? Numerous tactical squads, a smattering of assault squads, attack bikes, old lead, new plastic, ols abundant plasma guns. Glowing weapons - fatass dreadnaughts and of course tanks. Some with "customization" ala Clownshoe! - .
We also have Rogue trader beaky imperial marines and look out for the Necron legs!
